On Friday, the repair works of the dilation structure at the Dulácska valley bridge of the M0 highway will begin, Magyar Közút Nonprofit Zrt. announced. As a result, it became clear that the Dulácska valley bridge, located after the Törökbálint junction, on the side of the M0 highway from the M1 highway to the M5, needs to be urgently repaired. Dilation, or expansion joint, plays an important role in the stability of bridges, as the purpose of the dilation structure is to absorb the deformations of the bridge and cover the expansion joints, while being able to bear the traffic load. After the preparatory works and traffic installation tasks, it is expected that the repair works can begin on the morning of August 16.

Since an increased traffic of guest workers can be expected due to the long weekend and the summer season, more serious congestion can be expected. However, traffic safety and the continuity of traffic do not allow postponing the works, so they must be completed as soon as possible. According to the estimates of the external contractors, the works can be completed by the evening hours, so there is no need to expect traffic restrictions for the weekend. The works are carried out inside the bridge, under the traffic lanes, as the expansion elements can be repaired from there. Thanks to this, motorists will not encounter spectacular work, but traffic will not be able to move on the surface during this time.

During the restrictions, motorists can only use the inner lane, and can also drive on the parallel collector-distributor track, through which they can return to the highway.
